As some of you may know by now, Tuesday on Jasmine families love to hit the road! And while most of the time we are all in tow with the kiddos, sometimes we like to do a little adults only getaway.

Recently we celebrated a SURPRISE birthday celebration for one of our hubbies and wanted to share with you our Top 10 things to do while in Key West with adults only!

Conch Republic Seafood Co. We heard so much about "reds" from this restaurant that we had to stop in and try them! We highly recommend making a stop! Reds are basically shrimp that taste like lobster! The fun part? They're not on the menu, but you can certainly request to order them and they will know what you're talking about!

Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park Beach This beach was by far the best in Key West! The crystal clear blue water, white sandy beach and snack bar with all the beverages and food will be just what you are looking for! Key West is definitely not known for their beaches, however, if you are looking to spend some time at one and swim in the water this is where we would recommend. It is VERY rocky to enter the water, either grin and bear it, or bring water shoes!

The Smallest Bar on Duval Truly the smallest bar we have ever seen! This quaint little establishment doesn't disappoint! We highly recommend their Key Lime shot!!

Fury's Sunset Cruise (Commotion on the Ocean) - Listen to live music, enjoy delicious apps and margaritas all while taking in the most gorgeous sunset! For about $70 per person, you will receive unlimited food and drinks, as well as the entertainment! It is a great way to spend an evening on the water!

Half Shell Raw Bar - Their oysters and crab claws do not disappoint! A fun, laid back atmosphere to stop in and enjoy as you're strolling through town! They also have a bar crawl challenge that ends in free coozies!

Louies Backyard Delicious food, great drinks! Right on the beach with some beautiful views! They also offer brunch on weekends and a great wine bar! Reservations are recommended so you may want to make plans to visit Louie's!

The Breakfast Club If you don't try anything else we recommend, make this the one! It is so good that we went more than once! The Bloody Mary's, pancakes, french toast, skillets, ALL the things were SO good!

Key Lime Bike Tours A great way to see the lay of the land and work off all the food and drinks we've recommended 😉! From Mile Marker 0 to The Southernmost Point, you can see it all by booking a private tour of the island via Key Lime Bike Tours! This will run you about $45 but it is worth every single penny!

The White Tarpon Waterfront dining right on the marina, we cannot recommend their Key Lime Martini enough!! Even if you stop in JUST for that, it is 100% worth it! This is a great, laid back atmosphere to take advantage of during the day!

Live Music at Tiki House Bar It wouldn't be a trip to Key West without some fabulous live music! We came across the Tiki House Bar on the night that Jack and Kari Wolfe were performing! They tore the house down and if you can get there a night they are playing we promise you will be impressed!

Although Key West is literally only 4 miles long and 1.5 miles wide, we found there are a ton of options to get around the island other than walking every day! We may have found out the hard way when one from our group twisted their ankle and couldn't do the trekking, but we are so thankful we were able to experience all of these options!

  • Golf Cart Rentals

  • Bike with pulled carts

  • Moped Rentals

  • Piggybacks 🤪

Key West Express Ferry - This is a great option if you are choosing not to fly directly into Key West! You can fly into Ft. Myers and hop onto the ferry there! This is about a 3-3.5 hour trip and the ferry provides a full service bar, lounge areas, and air conditioned quarters! This will run you approximately an additional $172 per adult, so you will have to weigh your costs vs. flying direct!

In addition to VRBO and typical hotels, there is Vacation Homes of Key West (VHKW) and they are amazing to work with! They were able to find us a vacation home right on Simonton Street (parallel to Duval), in the middle of everything, complete with a private pool! If you are looking fro something a little different than your typical hotel stay - we highly recommend giving them a call!

The Concierge Girl - We are going to go out on a limb here and say you MUST hire Kelly!! We were referred to her via VHKW and she is incredible! She will handle just about anything that you need while in Key West - from grocery shopping to reservations for excursions and dinner! We hired her to stock our fridge and decorate for us! Save yourself some time and stress and contact Kelly!

Key West is definitely an experience! It is such a good time and there is so much to see and do that we are sure there are more really great things that we didn't get to experience and aren't included in these recommendations. We will only recommend our tried and true and hope that you can find some useful information for your next Key West trip here!
