There is nothing better than a light, refreshing cocktail on a hot summer day! This summer sangria is the perfect treat and a great option when you're hosting a gathering.

A glass and a full pitcher of a summer sangria, the perfect cocktail for a summer party. with wedges of limes and oranges as garnish.

We took inspiration from the recipe created by All She Cooks. We would have followed the recipe to a T, but we couldn't find the correct rum, so we improvised and it was seriously delicious! A traditional sangria includes red wine, rum, simple syrup and fruit (typically berries). Our cocktail is a summer sangria, which means we used white wine instead of red. We chose a dry Sauvignon Blanc as our base, used a Mango Rum (this is where we strayed from the recipe, she calls for Pineapple Rum), club soda and added a bunch of tropical fruit. No simple syrup here, the fruity rum was all we needed for some sweetness.

A summer sangria in a large pitcher and poured into a stemless wine glass with beautiful tropical fruit; oranges, limes, pineapple and kiwi for a fun display of color in this summer cocktail created for a party.

Fresh pineapple, oranges, kiwi and limes created the perfect tropical flavors we were looking for and added bright and beautiful colors to our pitcher. Let the fruit sit for a few hours in the fridge for added flavor, then serve in stemless wine glasses when ready!

  • 1 cup pineapple, fresh and cubed

  • 2 oranges, peeled and sliced

  • 2 kiwis, peels and sliced

  • 1 lime, cut into wedges

  • 1 bottle (750ml) white wine (we prefer a dryer wine)

  • 1 cup mango rum

  • 12oz club soda (can substitute lemon-lime soda for a sweeter drink)

The ingredients for the summer sangria, dry white wine, mango rum, a can of club soda, kiwi, limes, oranges and pineapples; all combine to create the perfect summer cocktail for a party

  • Cut the pineapple, oranges, kiwis into bite-sized pieces

  • Slice the lime into wedges

  • Combine the fruit with the white wine, mango rum and club soda in a large pitcher

  • Chill for at least 2 hours

  • Serve in a stemless wine glass, making sure to scoop some of the fruit into each glass for extra fruit flavor (and to make it pretty!)
