SNOW ICE CREAM - SNOW DAY ACTIVITY FOR KIDS
Snow days with older kids hit a little different than those days you would bundle them up, head outside for a little bit and come back in for some relaxation and snuggles. Now they can outlast you for hours without a care in the world that it's freezing cold out there! So, finding a way to have some quality time and make memories on snow days looks a little different!

We recently got our first snow here in Pennsylvania and along with that came 35 MPH winds and some bitter temperatures. We started to brainstorm what we could do with the kids that day that didn't include copious amounts of hours in the negative temps and decided to try to make some Snow Ice Cream!
Our recipe is for a plain vanilla tasting ice cream, but you can add flavorings like chocolate or strawberry very easily!
INGREDIENTS Makes approximately 2 bowls
8 cups of fresh snow
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup milk (any kind)
1/3 cup sugar
Any toppings you may want - chocolate chips, sprinkles, etc.

DIRECTIONS
Gather all of your non-snow ingredients
Collect 8 cups of clean snow and put in a large bowl
Add your vanilla extract, sugar and milk to the snow
Stir everything together until you have your desired consistency.
Garnish with any toppings you please and dig in!
The kids loved making this snow ice cream so much (it even brought the teenagers out of their rooms!) that they asked to make it again for after dinner treats!
