CRANBERRY LEMON DROP MARTINI

As we are all ramping up our magic making with only 3 more sleeps until that jolly fat man comes down the chimney, we thought this would be the perfect drink to share with you. Seasonal, classic, and seriously delicious - it's a Cranberry Lemon Drop Martini!

If you follow along with us, you know how much we love a good martini, like this pumpkin one for Fall or this chocolate one for well, anytime really! Well, we all agreed how delightful this one is. It's a perfect mix of sweet and sour that make this martini so easy to drink. It goes down very easy so just be careful!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1.5 oz. Citron Vodka

  • 1 Tablespoon Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice

  • 1 Tablespoon White Cranberry Juice

  • 1 Tablespoon Simple Syrup

  • Frozen Cranberries for Garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Fill a shaker with ice

  2. Combine all ingredients except the frozen cranberries

  3. Stir until well chilled

  4. Strain into a martini glass

  5. Garnish with a few cranberries

HELPFUL HINTS... We used freshly squeezed lemon juice when these were made for our progressive dinner but made them with bottled lemon juice later that week. While the freshly squeezed ones had a little more zing, the others were great too! Moral of the story, don't kill yourself if you need to substitute. There are some recipes where it matters, this is not one of those...not in our opinion at least! Same goes for the simple syrup. Make your own like we did, or buy a bottle. This is a judgement free zone people!

Like we mentioned, this was one of the drinks that was served at one of the houses during our progressive Christmas dinner. So it can be fancy and fit in with holiday gatherings and take you all the way through the winter. We love that this drink is clear with the red cranberry garnish - not too Christmasy and would be a great drink to serve all winter long...really all year long. With a little switch on the garnish maybe use some blueberries and it would be perfect in the spring and summer too!
