BRUCE JUICE

We can almost guarantee you have never heard of this Toast to Tuesday feature! Invented by one of our family members, this refreshing cocktail is a play on a classic Tom Collins!

The Bruce Juice cocktail, a spin off of a Tom Collins drink, sitting on top of a wood cutting board with a lemon peal sitting on the edge of the glass. The drink is sitting with a lemon garnish and a bottle of Faber Gin in the background.

Named after the inventor's faithful canine companion, Bruce (pictured below, so cute, right?!), we present to you -- Bruce Juice!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1.5 oz. Deep Eddy Ruby Red Vodka

  • 1.5 oz. Gin of choice (we like Faber)

  • 1 oz. Lemon juice

  • 1 oz. Simple syrup *so easy to make on your own - see below for recipe*

  • 2-3 Dashes of Angostura Bitters

  • Sprite or club soda (dependent on personal sweetness preference)

  • Ice

The ingredients for Bruce Juice lined up on a wooden platter outside in the grass. A Lemon, Deep Eddy Ruby Red, Faber Gin, simple syrup and aromatic bitters.

DIRECTIONS

  1. Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice

  2. Shake it! You want to shake it fairly vigorously to mix the citrus well

  3. Strain into a Collins glass, or a rocks glass with ice.

  4. Top with Sprite or club soda (Sprite will make it sweeter)

  5. Bottoms Up!

** NOTE: Simple syrup can run you about $15 at your local Wine and Sprits store, or, you can simply make it at home and store it in your fridge for easy access any time you want a cocktail! You want to mix equal parts pure cane sugar and water - measure for how large of a batch you want to make. Bring the water and sugar to a boil while stirring until the sugar dissolves. Once cooled, pour into an air tight container (like a mason jar) and store in your fridge! - SO easy and saves you money - two of our favorite things!

If you have ever invented a drink specialty of your own, let us know! We would love to try it and feature it on our Toast to Tuesday!
